“Thomas Merton and the Noon-day Demon: The Camaldoli Correspondence.” An article first, then a book on Merton’s attempts in the mid-1950s to obtain an authorized transfer from the Abbey of Gethsemani to the Sacro Eremo (the hermit village) of the Monastery of Camaldoli in Italy.

"Jesus Lama: Thomas Merton in Asia." Popular book based on my 2000-01 retracing of Merton's journey of 1968.

"Beyond the Shadow and the Disguise: A Companion to Thomas Merton's Asian Journal. Academic book aimed at making The Asian Journal more accessible.
